The Premises Information Box (PIB)® system is designed to provide fast access for the Fire & Rescue Service to building plans and information accommodated in A3 size format. The Emergency Response Pack guidance manual contains good practice guidelines on the process of preparing premises plans and collating information, including sections on orientation plans, layout & contents and safety & emergency features and is accompanied by a comprehensive sypbols cd in bitmap and jpeg formats.
The standard specification offers a high level of security and is suitable for sheltered external locations.
Specification
- The Premises Information Box is constructed of aluminium profiles specified to PA38 in accordance with PN‐84/H‐93669
- It is powder coated to RAL 3002 (Poppy Red)
- It is guaranteed against corrosion
- The door handle is attached to the right side of the door and is positioned centrally
- The handle is made of aluminium alloy. It is designed to detach from the face of the door if excessive force is applied
Dimensions
- The external size of the Premises Information Box is 550mm high x 475mm wide x 95mm deep.
- The internal size is 510mm high x 370mm wide x 70mm deep.
- The front corners have a convex polymer corner piece
- The door is 492mm high x 407mm wide with an internal rubber seal
- There is a photo‐luminescent emblem on the outer face of the door
Internal design
- Internally there is a Velcro strap for holding the A3 plastic splash‐proof sleeves containing the plans and information in place, whilst allowing easy access
- The lock is contained in a partition in order to prevent the plans catching behind the lock
- The Premises Information Box is available with the option of two or four CD ROM holders on the inner face of the door
Security
- The lock is designed to be operated by the Fire & Rescue Service One Key® System
- Patented integral cylinder
- Tested to EN1303:2005, achieving best grades in all categories, the locking system is approved by Secured by Design, the police preferred specification and is certified with the British Standards Kitemark.
- Manufactured to ISO 9001:2008
- Features of the lock include an anti‐glue facility and anti‐drill cylinder that uses the Hard Soft System, being formed of several composites of metal. The engineering of the lock is such that the cylinder cannot be extracted
- The lock is positioned on the right side of the box in order to avoid the attention of vandals and to restrict manoeuvring room in the event of an attack
- The unique shape of the Gerda multi‐dimensional key® is design‐registered. The key is protected against unauthorised copying
- To indicate key insertion angle and turning direction there is a photo‐luminescent sign situated at the key location point
